The Future Of Web Hosting

It is a fast changing world and the place that it changes fastest of all is the internet. Therefore, it can be very hard to predict what tomorrow will hold. However, based on the past few years it is fairly easy to have a good shot at predicting what is going to happen to the Web Hosting industry. Here are a few predictions which may just come true:

1. The Prices Are Going To Keep Going Down

With more and more Web Hosting companies starting up it would seem somewhat inevitable that due to the immense competition market forces are relentlessly going to push prices down. It was only a few short years ago that web hosting was costing $30 per month for just a single domain. Now you can get a comprehensive package which will host multiple domains for as little as $6.99 per month. This trend will continue and having your own website and hosting will become more and more accessible.

2. The Quality Is Going To Go Up

No longer is it going to be enough to just offer a basic service and leave your customer to fend for themselves. The hosting companies that will carve out a sizeable share of the market will be those that provide the absolute best quality service to their customers. This means making everything as accessible as possible such as FTP and transferring domains, etc. Since the vast majority of new buyers will be beginners to the world of websites it will be those companies that provide them with the easiest and simplest service that will succeed. Quality customer service with reliable email and phone support along with an extended refund policy will be seen as requisite features.

3. There Will Be An Explosion Of Additional Features

In order to attract more potential customers the hosting companies are going to have to provide some extra “ goodies” over and above the basic hosting service. It seems that these days everyone wants something free or something extra to add to the overall value of their purchase. Web hosting companies will do this in the form of providing Blogs, Advanced Website Editors and maybe even Graphics Creators and Autosponders. There will be many new feature to hit the market, many of which haven’t even been heard of at the moment, and they will all serve the purpose of enticing more and more customers.
